Company History: The Beginning

SeaArk Boats can trace its origins back to 1958 when a group of sea-faring men started MonArk Boat Company. They began their focus on small, aluminum jon boats, though quickly grew to include aluminum and fiberglass boats in a wider range of boat types. They also broke into some of the professional markets, starting with a boat with a small cabin for the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. Even today, you’ll find many of the boats SeaArk offers are commercial-oriented, including rescue boats. 

Workboats Galore

Originally, recreational boats and workboats were operated in two separate divisions. The recreational side was purchased by the Mercury Powerboat Division of Brunswick Division, and the workboat side that the original founders retained was renamed SeaArk. Their business partners expanded to include the U.S. Military, municipal fire departments, the San Antonio RiverWalk, and even foreign governments. 
 

Return to Recreation

When the non-compete agreement with Brunswick Marine expired in 1992, SeaArk once again began building recreational boats, placing their focus on all-welded, heavy-duty aluminum hunting and fishing boats. Which brings us to today’s extensive lineup of both recreational vessels and workboats. 
 

Today’s Boats

If you’ve done the math, then you already know that SeaArk Boats is celebrating over 60 years in operation. In that time, they’ve created the “world’s largest jon boat” and are also the top catfishing boat manufacturer. They have models built specifically for catching certain species of fish, and others that are more versatile.
