History

Lowe Industries, including the subsidiaries of Lowe Boats and Lowe Pontoons, was founded in the town of Lebanon, Missouri, in 1971 by Dianna and Carl Lowe, a couple who had previous experience in the manufacturing and sale of aluminum boats. Dianna’s father was J.B. Appleby, who is widely considered to be the pioneering designer behind the aluminum fishing boat. Carl worked for Appleby for over a decade before deciding to start his own boat business with his wife. 

To staff their fledgling company, the Lowes hired local workers who had skills in handcrafting and welding, allowing them to contribute their expertise to the company’s boat designs. This resulted in Lowe Boats becoming the standard for quality aluminum boat construction, with their boats able to withstand many seasons of fishing and recreational use. The Lowe Boats legacy continues to the present day, with their many models exceeding customer expectations at every turn.
